My friend, Brenda, texted a photo of her back yard in Florida, and no downed trees were in it! Hurricane Isaias wreaked havoc on many properties. Worse yet, at least four deaths are attributed to the storm. Brenda’s house had a large, downed tree leaning on its roof, and other trees covered the yard and driveway.
Thank the Lord for volunteers from Florida Baptist Disaster Relief and Hillcrest Baptist Church who came with equipment and hauled away two large trees, three medium trees, and many branches. They charged Brenda nothing, doing work that would’ve cost her more than she could ever afford to pay.
During the storm, Brenda depended on the Lord, her faith in Him unwavering as her power was out and winds raged. That’s what I call keeping the faith! Her trust in God brought her through, and progress has been made in the clean-up thanks to God’s people. Fear and worry didn’t win. She’s had peace that no one can explain in human terms. “Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:57
