I Can Pray

One key thing that keeps me grounded is prayer. If my morning doesn’t include praying, the day that follows usually contains a few stumbles and lack of direction. When I take time to ask God for His guidance and strength for the day in the context of what is most on my heart, He helps my actions fit His motives.

I recently faced a difficult phone conversation, and for a few days before speaking to this woman, I was worried. Not surprisingly, the verses that were next on my list of Bible prayers that morning were Philippians 4:6-7, which reminded me not be be anxious but to pray with thanksgiving. God promised that His peace would guard my heart. The woman was friendly, and we worked out a plan for her to move forward in what she hopes to do. I couldn’t believe how my shoulders relaxed. I felt at peace for the rest of the day.

If I trust God to keep His word, I can avoid stress. Peace is one of the many gifts the Lord gives to those of us who simply tell Him what we need. God answers prayer!
